Probably the biggest news since my last Newsletter is that Dyson & Dyson Real Estate has affiliated with Sotheby’s International Realty! We will now be known as Dyson & Dyson Sotheby’s International Realty.

Joining forces with a firm that specializes in marketing the best properties around the world will enable me to be a part of a global network with access to a far reaching, qualified client base and strong connections with the clients of Sotheby’s Auction House. I am expecting this relationship to create a broader awareness of the desirable lifestyle offered in the Coachella Valley!

Locally, mid-October is a wonderful time in the desert. The temperature has cooled down, the evenings are perfect and we are getting ready for the start of another season. With the low interest rates, the strength of the stock market and the ever increasing size of the boomer population, it looks like the high end real estate market will be fairly active this season.

•	Dyson & Dyson Partners with Sotheby’s: This article was published by The Desert Sun the day after our affiliation with Sotheby’s was inked. This will give you more details.
•	Foreign Buyers Active in US Real Estate: From The Wall Street Journal, this article looks at the increasing activity of foreign buyers, especially in the 2nd home market. I expect to see more Canadian buyers this year, due to their favorable exchange rate.
•	Assessing the Downturn: From Inman News, this interesting article compares the current downturn with the appreciation over the past 10 years in major US cities.
•	Luxury Lodging for your Cars: Car condos are being built in wealthy areas and are being very well received.
•	The 10 Most Expensive Homes Sold in the Desert in September 2007: The Vintage has the top 2 closings, an Indian Wells estate home sold. Bighorn, The Hideaway & The Reserve were represented, as well as The Villas at Mirada, Rancho La Quinta and a home in the Mesa area of Palm Springs.
