As we move through April, there feels like a bit of change is in the wind! I am beginning to see evidence that there is a bottoming out of the housing market in the Coachella Valley!
The stock market has seen a 15% gain in just the past 30 days, the bad news in the media has slowed tremendously and there is more and more good news regarding Real Estate. Wells Fargo was profitable in the first quarter, cars sales are increasing, as are home sales.
Donald Trump was on Good Morning America this week, saying that this is ‘an excellent time to buy real estate’. According to Warren Buffett ‘The time to buy is when everyone is nervous. The time to be nervous is when everyone is buying’. It seems to me that everyone is still nervous about real estate right now, but that will change.
This doesn’t mean that everything is going to start selling. I think we will see some increase in home sales over the next 60-90 days, as more buyers start to believe that this is a good time to buy. Not enough sales to firm up prices, but enough to start reducing the inventory. The summer months may be a little more active than usual, and we will probably see a continuation of increased sales coming into next season.
