Valued Friends & Clients,

As we are getting ready for finals week at the Pacific Life Tennis Tournament in Indian Wells, and preparing for the Kraft Nabisco Championship WPGA Golf Tournament in Rancho Mirage later this month, there is a lot of activity in the desert! The streets are crowded, the restaurants are full and the tennis is setting attendance records! Plus, temperatures are in the 90’s! March Madness in the Desert!

Our local real estate market was picking up steam just as the stock market had its recent correction. Even though most long term stock investors are not panicking, they have definitely moved to a higher level of ‘wait and see’. This has had some effect on local real estate sales and will probably continue to do so for the near term, which makes this a great time to consider buying real estate in the desert!

With a larger inventory of homes than normal, home prices stabilizing, more serious home sellers and still very low interest rates, there are definitely some great real estate opportunities available. In the long term, the desert real estate market will be positive and the valley will continue to grow. Remember, it is all about the lifestyle!

This month I have included some interesting articles, including:

The Salton Sea - The Next Big Thing?

Depending on who you talk to, the Salton Sea is either a giant boondoggle or The Next Big Thing in California tourism.
