Valued Friends & Clients,

As we head into 2008, I want to take a moment and wish you all a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year! Even though we are 2 weeks into 2008, there is still plenty of time to stop and reflect on all of the good things in your life, and to celebrate your family and friends.

With the opening round of The Bob Hope Classic, and the weather being outstanding, the seasonal real estate market should be ready to shift into high gear. The national exposure the Palm Springs desert area receives this week will be tremendous.

Looking back at 2007, the real estate market was very mixed. The market under about $800,000 was heavily impacted by the first wave of foreclosures and increased inventory. The high-end and luxury market was not impacted by foreclosures, but we did see an increase in inventory, a reduction in the number of sales and a wait-and-see attitude by the Buyers.

It is very difficult to predict the real estate activity for 2008 at this point. I am optimistically hoping to see sales activity at about the same level as last year in the high-end and luxury market, while it will be much tougher for the lower end market. And, there should be some stabilization in the 1st quarter of 2009. So, 2008 will be a very good year to buy real estate, if you plan to hold it for 3-4 years.

FAQ's About Capital Gains

"We want to thank you for all of your help and advice in finding our winter home in the desert. You fully appreciated Linda’s “legal brain” needing to think everything to death over 3 consecutive winters before finally buying in Indian Wells. During this time, we never once felt pressure from you, but rather a calm, good-natured, professional approach.

We appreciated your regular updates on inventory in the desert. With your long-term real estate experience in the Valley, we learned that we could trust you absolutely and that we could truly rely on you for honest, thoughtful answers. We also appreciated your kind assistance with providing transportation to and from the airport for Linda whenever it was needed.

We are thrilled and excited with our decision to purchase at Toscana CC. Your concern was and remains even now, how to make things as easy as possible for us.

We consider you a good friend and look forward to years of backyard barbeques!"
